The Hachiya Persimmon is a very large, coned shaped fruit. The Hachiya when ripe has a red-orange skin the most popular fresh eating Japanese persimmon in the world. Hachiya Persimmons are the largest variety of persimmon and said to be the best for cooking. Hachiya Persimmon Trees are vigorous trees that produce sweet rich delicious fruit in November and make great indoor patio plants. The trees are also extremely hardy and have been known to survive in low temperatures such as 20F.
