Product Description:

The Kaffir Lime Tree is a thorny tree with aromatic and distinctively shaped "double" leaves. The kaffir lime is a rough, green fruit. The green lime fruit is distinguished by its bumpy exterior and its small size (approx. 4 cm wide). The Kaffir Lime is cold hardy in USDA growing zones 9-11. The tree can be kept as a container plant and grown in all other growing zones if it is brought indoors for the winter.

The rind of the kaffir lime is commonly used in Lao and Thai curry paste, adding an aromatic, astringent flavor. The zest of the fruit is used in creole cuisine and to impart flavor to "arranged" rums in the Martinique, Réunion Island, and Madagascar.

The leaves can be used fresh or dried and can be stored frozen. Its hourglass-shaped leaves (comprising the leaf blade plus a flattened, leaf-like leaf-stalk or petiole) are widely used in Thai and Lao cuisine (for dishes such as tom yum), and Cambodian cuisine (for the base paste "Krueng"). The leaves are used in Indonesian cuisine (especially Balinese and Javanese), for foods such as sayur asam, and are used along with Indonesian bay leaf for chicken and fish. They are also found in Malaysian and Burmese cuisines. Arrives in Citrapot.

I bought several calamondin trees here for myself and some for gifts a few years back. I was very pleased with my orders. A family member I gave one to, had a problem with the tree and it died after a year. This company honored its 3-year warranty. I had bought my big calamondin tree 5 years ago and it's still doing very well. I just ordered my 1st Kafir lime tree. I can't wait to receive it. I have recommended this company to friends and family. Great quality trees and service. Thank you! (Posted on 5/1/2020)

I had purchased this kaffir lime tree for my dad 8/2016. My dad is so happy with the tree, with brutal NYC winter, we placed the tree in door. This year we have some bloomed, looks like we will have fruits. Very exciting!!! (Posted on 6/17/2018)
Still going strong! Review by Ryan

After almost 2 years my Kaffir lime is going strong. I bought the 2-3 year old tree and planted it in a large pot. It is going absolutely crazy this year...it's well over 6 feet tall and full of leaves. I had a problem with spider mites at the end of last season that I let get out of control during the overwintering period when we had it inside. I actually had to prune it down to twigs this past spring but it has returned with a vengeance and has never looked better! I use a horticultural oil now every few weeks to keep the mites under control and I fertilize with a seaweed/fish emulsion every other week and occasionally use a citrus specific fertilizer as well. I would not hesitate to recommend buying from lemoncitrustree.com if you are looking for this beautiful and delicious tree. (Posted on 9/30/2016)

Very impressed !!! I am giving this company the highest score because they DO sell good quality plants. My shipment has been delayed twice because of the bad weather. I was so amazed after I open the box. The plant was in a very good condition and on top of that it was wrap with two instant heat pads!!!! (Posted on 3/12/2015)
